Mom's garden

I always loved my moms garden. As a kid i loved it because it was a perfect Barbie's Tropical Rainforest, but now because I'm pretty much plain jealous.

This is kinda an aged zinnia but oh well.  Even though it looks as if it has been around the block it's still pretty nice looking

If you are good enough you can catch these hummingbird moths with your hands.  I've done it a couple times.  I swear!

This little guy was hanging out in our table building construction zone.  I think since he is a stickbug he just wanted to hang out with something more woodlike.

Ok this swallowtail butterfly was the HARDEST thing to take a picture of.  Maybe this one was just really hyper or something.  You don't realize how hard it is to catch a picture of them until you are actually doing it.

I thought I was all caught up until I looked on my camera and I was missing tons of things.  Here is my brother, his girlfriend, and my little sister finger painting. It's because we are awesome ok?! and he's leaving for idaho in a few weeks... awwwww!!! lil aaron bubba baby all grown up and goin to college!!!

Here is my awesomeness finger painting!  I was kinda sad to throw it away.

My brother Adam saved burt nachos for a whole day just so I would come over to moms and take a picture of it because of the cool colors.  nice adam, real nice.  i love my family.

We stayed with my grandma for the time we were in Maryland.  I helped her out with stuff and she helped me out with stuff like fixing a zipper on my skirt that was pretty much brand new.  Thanks Grandma!

See, this picture is old! It was the moving crew that helped us pack up! Thanks guys!  I even have an awesome picture of Jason jumping five feet in the air b/c of the spider. haha

Our life up till this point

So far life has been good.  Our place is set up.  McKay has a couple of weeks until school starts and I am trying to find a job. He is completely bored.   Braiden? Jason? Where are you?  Someone needs to help this man. Today I have applied for 6 jobs and he has just been bored all day! help!  He even shaved his beard off and now he looks more like Braiden than himself.  weird.
Anyway here is our apartment

Solution to the kitchen counter problem

Thanks to knockoffwood we fixed our problem of lack of counter space.  Poor McKay, I come up with these ideas and tell him "We need to do this" or "We need to do that."  And I drag him out in the hot and humid air to work on another project and he does it.  I would also like to thank McKay's parents for providing him with the knowhow to do such projects and my mom for messing up her garage.  Here is our process and the whole thing took us probably a week.

Stained...

All finished and ready for the apt.  I even had extra time to strip and sand the desk from my childhood.  It used to be bright purple with yellow daisies but no longer.  Now it is just stripped and sanded.  I should really get to finishing it soon, but right now it is sooo not on my list of things to do.  I could even fix up that super old chair with a new seat, that is far in the future as well.

Yay for projects! Next time I'll show you how it works in our new apt!

Soccer stuff and other things

My little sister Amanda has been running to get in shape for the upcoming soccer season.  She will be in 9th grade this year.  I have been working out with her and taking her to the school track.  It's really weird to go back to my old high school.  Brings back lots of memories. (And just so you this is Amanda in these two pictures.  Just thought I would clarify that because people get us confused sometimes)

I remember running around this track over and over and over for the girls track team.  And the last practice our coach made us run like 25 300's.  Talk about the worst.  I swore I would never ever do that again.  But here I am doing it again.  I wish I could remember my times for the 200 and 400.  Oh well.

A couple of times I got everyone into it.

Ok, so this is kinda random but my little brother is going to BYUI this year.  We had a going away/eagle scout party and it was BIG.  Ribs, brats, salads, rolls, dips, anything you could ever want and we had it.  Even though my mom invited a lot of people there were still tons of food left over.  We ended up eating ribs for breakfast many times.

The beach. again

Heather came out from Idaho so we took another trip to the beach due to the 105° weather.   So we headed across the Bay bridge over the Chesapeake.  We asked for "the Bay Game" at the toll and the lady there told us they had none to give out ever since the new governor came into office and got rid of them.  And that just triggered her into a spiel about how "He has GOT to go"*insert three snaps for emphasis*

For some reason we always drive way out of our way to go to Spence's Market in Dover.  It is a huge dirty flea market and with lots of home grown produce, Amish furniture, antiques, and other random junk.  Just tradition I guess.

The Amish also have a huge section where they sell the best food ever.  That is what we mainly get.  Ham, cheese, and rolls for our lunches at the beach.  Yum!

Once we got to the beach it started pouring but some of us went out anyway and had fun on the beach without any other people on it.

Down at the boardwalk is where all the food and shopping happens.  This ice cream shop has 300 different flavors.  Take that Ben and Jerry.  As a kid I always ordered Bubblegum ice cream which had whole pieces in it.  I have also tried the Bacon ice cream which is actually pretty good and has one of those sweet/salty tastes.  You really should click on this picture and read some of the flavors yourself.

Aaron loves the giant chess game.   Unfortunately he lost to this old man.

My favorite store at the beach: Bella Luna.  Very very very cute stuff. They had these salt and pepper shakers shaped as slugs!  Love it!  Didn't buy anything though.

Another favorite store is the Joke shop.  Candy cigarettes anyone?
