Apt in Boston

It was a long search for an apt.  I literally starting crying the first day because "we weren't in Kansas anymore."  We looked and looked for anything that was really cheap (relatively) but not in the ghetto.  Housing is soooo expencive here.  Just look it up on Craigslist.  We ended up finding an apartment in East Boston.  We found it by calling the church in Boston and they gave us a list of apts other people were trying to fill.  This one was soo cheap, way cheaper than anything we had ever looked at, had more room but we have to commute a little longer into downtown.  We are going to be on the third floor of this apt.  The first floor is another lds family and the second level is a funny old Italian catholic lady who is the landlady.

The kitchen sucks, not much counter space.  There is counter space in a closet but that is kinda inconvenient.  These next couple of days we are going to try to build some countertops or something...

The backyard, the landlady has these grapevines growing.  I think we might just take the subway and get unlimited passes for the subway and not use a car. It will be cheaper.  We are thinking of getting bikes too

Across the street... It's not very pretty like downtown Boston but it works.  Something that kinda sucks about these old apartments is that they have oil heating and that is expensive.

We are right next to the airport.  And the beach is just a five minute walk from there. Kinda cool

Here is a video of the apt.  It's very nice and way bigger than what we wanted but considering it was the cheapest one we have found we are not complaining.  The bathroom was one of the nicest ones we had seen in boston but that just happened to be luck.  Something cool about all the apts in boston is that they all have hardwood floors, heavy wooden doors, and nice wooden molding.  I don't know why but 95% of them are all like that.

As soon as we got to Maryland my mom took us all to the beach.  It was fun!

Road Trip

Our last meal in Rexburg was at Frontier Pies at 9:00 at night.  We had spent all day cleaning, went there for dinner and then went back to cleaning until 2:00 am.  We were the most exhausted we have ever been in our entire lives and that apartment looked good.  It looked way better than when we moved in.  And the stupid thing is that the managers still said that our apt was dirty and it didn't look like we had done anything and they wanted us to pay them $20 an hour to clean it.  Thankfully Braiden and Sharon helped out with that. The whole ordeal really ticked us off and makes me feel like they are scamming people.  So don't let it happen to you.  grrrrr

Our plan was to get from Idaho to Maryland.  We are moving to Boston after we visit and solidify an apartment.  But our goal for this week was to make it to Maryland.  It took us 4 days to get there.  We were hoping to make it in 3 but of course the Budget Truck that we had broke down and that set us back a day.  We got all of the signs of the states we drove through except for Iowa and that was because it was too dark.  I have the Illinois sign too but I didn't include it b/c it would make it odd and screw up my organization process on this blog.

Cool old windmill friend

Our blowout in Burns, WY. Luckily Burns is like 20 mins away from Cheyenne and we were rescued by my roommates who lived there.  

It took the roadside assistance people 4 hours to get us back on the road again and by that time it was already 1:00am so we went back to Cheyenne and spent the night in Emily's room.  And the next day we spent most of the day waiting in the mechanic shop.  But eventually we got that heap rolling again.

Happy 4th!

Man, I have all of these pictures and I have so much to catch up on and it is kinda overwhelming but here we go.  For the fourth everyone went to Pocatello and we had a blast.  It was fun to hang out with family before we left the west.

Ethan and Gavin are so adorable together.  They are seriously going to be best friends.  Gavin was playing this computer game and Ethan would literally snuggle up to him and watch for hours. CUTE

Homemade ice cream is perfect on the fourth of July.  The Willey tradition is to put a little bit of lemon in with the icecream.  yum

Another perfect Fourth of July thing is hammocks.  I seriously just laid out there for an hour.  Awesome!  

Later on at night we watched fireworks.  These pictures are two nights worth of fireworks.  One was the city's fireworks and the other night was Steve's amazing pyrotechnic show.

Steve used his amazing pyrotechnic skills to light off several old fireworks back behind the house.  Great job! Whoo Hooo!

My neices in the bottom left picture remind me of the "hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" monkeys. haha

What a fun 4th of July!

Grandpa Hatch

During the fourth of July weekend we went up to Blackfoot to see McKay's grandpa.  Even though his leg is broken he was still in good spirits and was very talkative. It was really nice to talk with him

We went up with Layne and Veronica and it was fun.

On our way out we stopped by the farm.  I'm sorry I got this dang fence in the picture but I am just too short... grrr.... While we were at McKay's parents house everyone was doing a family heirloom distribution thing for Grandpa Hatch's stuff.  He seriously had some cool things.  Like the American Legion rifle, homemade knife, a German WWII hat, a 1920's firefighter hat, and so much more.  It was really cool to see all that stuff.

Pictures around the farm...  Eden and Nina were so excited to go see the pigs that they couldn't contain it.  But once they got in the barn with the pigs they were completely disgusted with the smell so that didn't last long.  ha ha

I thought this Bison hide was interesting... I want to know where they found a bison that they could kill that wasn't protected.  Maybe I should go hunt one.  It was kind of smelly

The last... (For those of you who are confused I wrote this post like two weeks ago but never published it)

I've really been thinking about all the "lasts" that are coming up. Like my last fitness class, last trip to Broulims, last ride in the Jetta, last day of work, last drive down main street, last time to hang out with friends, last time for everything. sad! I didn't even want to get out of the swimming pool today because I knew it was my last time.Mckay said he is finally feeling getting a little sad about moving. Seems like once everyone moved out here again we are taking off. Maybe we will just have to come back and live somewhere around here. I would want to go live in Tetonia and own a cow or something. I don't know if I could do the whole wake up early thing to milk it but if we got one to just kill when it got fat that might be nice. or not nice. I don't know. Or maybe this is all just my Man From Snowy River fantasy and I should dismiss it from real life. Anyone see eclipse? "Well, I'm hotter than you!" haha HA HA! Also, I have finally found out that I have hypnic jerks. I didn't even know this was actually a classified thing. When I'm falling asleep sometimes I will be 99.9% asleep and then my body will violently spasm and I will completely wake up. And this really really really really really really annoys McKay because it wakes him up too and he is always like "What are you doing?" and I don't even know because I was asleep until that point. But apparently they are involuntary like hiccups and you can't control them. Just thought that was interesting. Here are three songs I've been really liking lately.

Now for the pictures...One day we hung out with Braiden and sharon at the water park... It was fun sitting in the sun and running through the water with Ethan. We are going to miss them!Clover necklaces! Apparently Sharon, Braiden, and McKay had never made these as kids.I put one of them on Ethan and he wore it for like an hour. I thought he would have ripped it right off but he didn't. funny.Ethan really really wanted the soda straw McKay was chewing on and McKay wouldn't let him have it.So Ethan resorted to McKay's method. And speaking of old cars... we sold ours :(And my last day of work came really quickly. I seriously am going to miss Graycee and her whole family! I love this girl!Packing Packing and more packing... So much packing that mckay is sleeping with bubble wrap!
