Snorkeling

We headed to Hanauma Bay at 6:00am and stayed for eight hours.  Yours truly snorkeled the whole time!!! Time flew by so fast.  McKay doesn't really like snorkeling was done after a little while so he was just working on his tan.  You definitely want to get there early.  It may be colder but it's worth it to have no one around you kicking up sand.

While I was swimming over these rocks that were a foot away from my stomach (very creepy) I looked down and saw a sea turtle!!!!!  That was AWESOME!!  Another creature worth mentioning was the cornetfish... talk about creepy.

For all of these pics i just used a regular underwater film camera.  And I don't know why but 85% of our pictures came out REALLY blurred.  I don't know why but it didn't really work very well.

These are the only other pictures that didn't come out super blurred. The first picture on the left was a picture McKay took.  He claims that this fish tried to kill him.  The bottom picture on the left was my pseudo-blurry picture of a porcupine pufferfish.  It had spikes and everything!! He is camouflaged really well so you just arn't looking at a bunch of rocks.  Maybe I should have grabbed one and threw it at him to make him blow up.  That would have been fun but very mean.

Check out my cut! I got it messing around while hiking.  I tried to keep sand out of it and stuff but that was useless.  I'm hope the saltwater did something positive to help it heal because it was seriously BURNING the whole time I was in the salt water.  In the end i had a scab that was a 1/8 of an inch thick and it got so soaked that it just fell off after my latest water aerobics class.

 I told you I had a lot of pictures so don't say I didn't warn you.  

We ate at a place called Dukes... which was amazing!!  And let me tell you... the tomatoes were awesome!  They had that lovely homegrown taste that you can't get in the grocery store.  The pineapples were good too.  We always thought people were just bragging when they would say "You HAVE to try a pineapple in hawaii..." but it's true.  The flavor is stronger and they don't give you that tongue numbing feeling that  pineapples at home will.  YUMM! 

Cute thing #1: little surfer boy.  This looks really fun. McKay and I just spent one evening watching the sun set and these little kids surfing.  I want to do this one day, except in a place with no rocks. I know what it feels like to be slammed into the sand over and over in the beaches in Maryland and I have NO desire for that to happen against these rocky sea floors in Hawaii.

Cute thing #2: lil crab guy

On one of our hikes we came across this waterfall/swimming hole.  It was awesome! Perfect after our hot sweaty hike and was totally unexpected!  The waterfall was nice too, just like a natural back massager.  Which brings me to Lesson #1 of Hawaii: wear your swimsuit under your clothes at all times.  You never know what body of water is up ahead.  Luckily McKay and I were constantly wearing ours and were prepared.  Lesson #2 is sunscreen.

I have never seen a sunset over the ocean before and it was beautiful every stinkin time! I also had never seen such crazy trees before either! They are huge and they spread out horizontally I tried to get a picture of the tree below but I was too short to not get the building (sorry).

Drive around Oahu

We saw the bonsai pipeline, pineapple plantations, orchid farms, where they filmed Lost and Jurassic Park, BYU Hawaii, Laie Temple, and several different beaches.

Hawaii

McKay and I just spent a week in Hawaii.  I have too many pictures so beware.... i will be posting many for the next couple of days.  These plumerias are all over the place and they are pretty cool 

The weather was so nice and hot.  It was a pretty big shocker when we came back to SLC to find snow!!

We stayed in Waikiki and it was the best!

There was seriously so many homeless people in Hawaii too.  I don't know if they are all surferbums who decided to stay outside just because the weather is nice or  what but seriously there was a ton.

Spinning Class

I have been going to a spinning class religiously. I enjoy it because it's really hard, and I feel like I have lost 5 lbs afterwards (but not really). I like that feeling. Anyway, i was watching an episode of the office last night with McKay and I started dying when I saw this part. So i just thought I would share.

Boston

     McKay just recently went to an interview at the New England College of Optomety.  He took lots of video clips while he was there so here is his video.  I don't know about you but the school (which is in the Sears mansion) looks a lot like Hogwarts.

  

And I know how we told everyone that we are moving to California but we changed our minds when Boston said "YES!!"  So it is official, we are moving to Boston. 

Water Aerobics

Just so everybody knows I am teaching a water aerobics class at 6:00 every tues and thurs at the school.  It's good for your joints and pretty much everywhere else. So come!!!  It is free, fun, and a great workout!!!

For McKay's graduation I surprised him with this collage poster thing.  That way he can put it up next to his diploma in his future office. He loved it and that made me feel all warm and fuzzy.  I created this by going to snapfish.com. The only problem I had was you couldn't specifically choose where you wanted specific pictures without ruining the whole layout.
