Elliette Marie

After twelve hours of labor and three and a half hours of pushing we have a new family member join us. It is pretty busy being a mom, I barely had enough time to make this post if it wasn't for the help of my husband. So here enjoy our hospital pictures.  This first picture is us headed off to the hospital at 11pm because the contractions were getting out of control and later on the next day she was born.  I have no idea where she got her hair from.

This is the new addition to our family. This was right after she was born. The reason she is blinking is because of the eye drops they put in. She is 8 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long. Nice and healthy!

Baby crafts

Yeah, well today is my official due date and as it turns out... no baby.  So I thought I would share with you a few projects I have been working on for her grand arrival.

First, flannel burp cloths.  My Aunt Lucinda made me a few of these and they are so nice I decided I should make more.  So I traced hers made millions, see.  YAY!
Secondly baby shoes.  This was a big experiment and I wasn't really sure what I was doing but I think it turned out as a success. I just used fabric my mom had and followed the directions for these here. YAY!
And lastly, I made one of these car seat covers.  I love the grey and the pink.  The underside fabric are these lovely pink and grey dots.  I think it came out pretty well.  I found the tutorial here and I made the little tabs with velcro and put bows on it instead of buttons. I'm pretty proud even though I basically guessed on the centering of it.  Ta DA!
Well, that's all for now.  I have my sewing machine put away and ready for baby to come.

McKay's birthday

For McKay's birthday I blindfolded him and took him to one of the few Texas Roadhouse's this side of the Mississippi.  I have to admit it wasn't as good as the restaurant in IF but that's ok.  He didn't even know we had one of these out here anyway.  It also turns out that he doesn't trust me when he has blindfolds on.  He kept taking teeny tiny steps and thought i was going to lead him into a tree or off a cliff or something.  All of the old people going to the restaurant laughed at us as we were coming in.

So here's a belly picture of me... just in case you were wondering
A random picture of my brother at his work
 Birthday cake!
sorry this post is so random and weird.
