That big ol secret i was working on

A while ago when I took a book arts class I had to make a content book. I filled mine with my grandmas stories. My mom saw it, really liked it, and suggested that i make one for all of our relatives!!! That was TONS of work but I did it! whooo hoooo!!! I was kind of sad when I put all of my little babies in the mail... but they are to be enjoyed, so if you have one I hope you like it!! Each book is different and I tried match the book to the personality of the person receiving the it. I don't know if i really did succeed in that but I hope I did.

Rachel and Job II

Rachel and Job liked their engagement pictures and then asked me if I would do their wedding. And holy cow was it exciting! I like being involved in weddings and not dealing with any the weeks of planning, drama, ect. I took pictures outside of the Rexburg temple, and at their luncheon. I was kind of nervous because I have never wedding photos before and that would be the WORST if I messed them all up. But they got a lot of good shots and here are some of my favorites!
Bossy teacher skills come in handy when trying to organize big groups like these. I think i did a great job being bossy if you ask me :) Also, while walking away from the group to take this second picture, I slipped on some ice and fell!!! IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE GROUP!!! AHH!!! EVERYONE WAS LAUGHING!!! It wasn't a painful fall like when you have to lay there on the floor for two minutes before you get up. It was just embarrassing.
I love excited pictures!!

So I posted two of these dress pictures because I like both of them. The blown out one was originally a mistake I made in photoshop but I like it. I don't know why, but I do.
After the luncheon it was late I just snapped this picture on my way home.

Gingerbread houses!!

So once finals were over we all decided to have a party making gingerbread (graham cracker) houses. We all went over to Sharon's and had lots of treats. McKay tried to go for an "ecofriendly" house, but that quickly ended once his house fell over... oops! It was really hard to prevent them from falling over. It was fun fun fun!

We all decided that Sharon's was the best! I love the door on hers!!

Right after our party I had to run to a wedding... Here is me and three other photographers each waiting outside the doors of the temple for our brides and grooms.

Campus

This week is finals week and McKay is very stressed about school. I kinda feel bad because while he suffers I can relax, read a book, take a nap, or basically do whatever I want. Well, not really, I am working on this huge project, but you all will not find out until after Christmas what that happens to be. I don't miss school at all.
Heather asked me to take two pictures of campus, one of the BYUI sign and one of the Taylor building. She needed them for her husband's-brother's-girlfriend. I think its for christmas or something but I don't really know.

Our first christmas tree!!!

When we brought home our christmas tree I was kind of worried because it had lots of gaps and wasn't very dense and full and I thought it might look a little funny. The only thing I had to fill in the gaps was a box of christmas balls that I bought a year or two ago for a RS project. Thankfully, one of my friends, Angie, had given me some of her old ornaments, and I had some gift cards in my purse from my birthday and I got some more decorations. I have also discovered that tool is a great filler if your tree is really hollow.

Anyway, I LOVE IT!

p.s. if anyone needs any christmas ornaments I have some more christmas balls... just let me know

Rachel and Job

Oh my gosh it was SOOO COLD when we took these pictures! It actually kind of hurt. It's been really cold these past couple of days... with the high being 9°F some days. The one day when it was -12°F practically killed me. Once you walk out in weather like that it feels like your teeth are all cracking and your lungs cant handle it so you start these coughing fits. Anyway, I am grateful for my coat, heater, boots, gloves, hat, slippers, and the defrost in the car. But all that aside, it wasn't like that when we took these pictures, it was cold though. It was super fun and we got some Cocoa Bean afterwards.

They met at the Cocoa Bean (a local hot chocolate shop) which is why this last picture is relevant, just so you know.

Christmas tree hunting

This year we went to go cut down our own christmas tree... from the forest. We bought a permit and went up to Kelly Canyon. It was 5° when we got there. BRRRR!! We ended up seeing five moose too (two of them were bulls.) We knew the moose were near but we didn't know how close, so we decided to walk up a hill and see. Almost as we were reaching the top of the hill, McKay and Braiden (who were in front) started screaming and running back down the hill. Thinking the moose were charging us, the rest of us started running for our lives back down the hill. Apparently once Mckay got to the top of the hill, McKay was 20ft away from all of the moose. But when we ran away so did the moose (in the opposite direction.)

"No Jason, not THAT tree!"

The first kill of the day...

They call me Paul Bunyan!

More pictures of Amanda

Sharon (my sister-in-law) is an aesthetician. So that means she does makeup, hair, nails, waxing, facials, and other beauty stuff. And trust me, she is amazing at it!! So she and I decided for her to take her little sister, do her hair and makeup, and then me take pictures afterwards. Sharon and I both loved doing this so much that we are opening this up to anyone else who wants it (makeover+photoshoot). Just let me know.

Sharon did the makeup in my previous post about Amanda too. It's just a "more natural look" rather than this "smokey eye look." I don't know anything about makeup, but she sure knows what she's doing.
