Living Dangerously...

This story begins with McKay and Jessica leaving their apartment on a Tuesday.  This was no ordinary Tuesday, it was a Tuesday that felt like a Saturday.  It felt like a Saturday because there was no school. YAY!

Anyway, Jessica and McKay drove down to Pocatello to McKay's parents house to pick up a few things. Eventually they decided to drive back up to Rexburg. 

 While they were passing Idaho Falls the looming black cloud above them started to downpour with big fat raindrops.  McKay immediately turned on his wipers so he could see.  It only took three wipes before the wiper on the drivers side over-wiped and was dangling off the car.  Unable to see, McKay slowed down but couldn't pull over because of construction.  "I can see, my wiper still works!"  Jessica explained and she grabbed the wheel from the passenger seat.  

With McKay in charge of the breaks and gas, and Jessica in charge of the driving, the couple drove through the storm and safely returned to their lovely apartment in Rexburg and lived happily ever after.

P.S.  got my test scores for the history PRAXIS and I scored 161 (the average scores are from 141-171.  The highest score is 200, and the passing score is 141.)

Ok... McKay looks like a big goof in this picture but thats because he is one and I finally captured it in film... HA!

This is him in his neuroscience class.  He really likes that class... and on this day they got to embalm their pet rats that they have had all semester.

This is the blood that dripped out of the rats as each student cut the diaphragm, then the lower part of the heart.  After that they put the embalming fluid into the rats heart so the fluid spread throughout the body.  During this process McKay said the rats started to twitch and become stiff.

Coooool!

This was McKay's rat.  He said it was kind of sad to see them go.  He even admitted that they were cute. He also added that when he chopped off the head and took out the brain out that the brain was really cute too because it was really little.

when life gives you lemons...

For book arts I got to learn how to use an old fashioned letter press.  It was extremely time consuming because you had to make everything fit tight so the pieces don't wobble around.  It turned out really cool in the end though, an effect that you just can't get from printing from the computer.

Sharon and Braiden stayed with us at our apt before they left for PA.  She wanted to make a book for her new baby so I gave her some of the marbled paper I made and we made books.  Her's is the one on the left (LOVE IT) and mine is the one on the right.  

This is a really random post, I am just jumping all over the place but whatever.  In my printmaking class there is a guy named Ryan.  He is really into fashion and he brought in this Dior ring to class.  Apparently there is only seven of these rings in the United States... I forgot to ask him how much it costs but oh well.  I am wearing something expensive Ooooo!

Ok, I didn't make anything cool in flower center this week... all I did was organize a magazine shelf... real cool... But I did see this flower in the cooler and had to take a picture of it.  When I showed this picture to McKay he told me that this flower makes it into his favorite top 3.  HA! I think it is just weird. 

In case none of you know but there is a semi dress code at BYUI.  They want us to dress "professional" so that means no flip flops and stuff like that.  Well a couple of days ago McKay and I both went to school with flip flops on.  We met in the library to eat dinner together.  As we were eating our reheated food McKay started to get up to go get some napkins.  Once he stood up he hit his foot against the foot of the table and broke his toe!  Ouch!  I feel bad now because at the time I thought he just stubbed his toe and told him to suck it up.  When we were walking out of the library... well... limping out of the library we saw a friend and he said "well thats what you get for not obeying they dress code."

Island Park

For the forth McKay and I had to drive a whole 30 mins to Island park for a Willey family reunion.  McKay and I were looking forward to this vacation for a while.  It is nice to put down homework and just hang out with people who like to have fun.

On Saturday we went with Maren, Steve, and Skyler and found a random dock to swim off of.  That water in the revisor was soooo cold.  

During the whole weekend we played games with TONS of prizes and those were a lot of fun too.  

Carrie brought some crafts and they were so awesome!  They were fun to make and now I have more decorations for our apartment! YAY!

McKay, Braiden and Sharon even convinced Eddy, Layne and Tanner to get their noses waxed.  It was very entertaining and kinda gross. (Below: everyone waiting for the wax to dry in Eddy's nose) haha

In the bottom right corner you can see the goose that was having fun biting my arm while this picture was being taken... that little brat!

He wasn't allowed to roam free like the other bears because he had a habit of breaking people's windows and ripping their heads off.  

These other bears (a brown bear? where is that bear tunes cd when I need it) got to roam free, lay on peoples cars, scratch them, and pop the tires, you know all the fun stuff.

Most of the baby bears were kept in a pen.  This one was so cute.  For $50 you can feed these baby bears.  I totally want to do that.

Ok, this picture is awesome! Skyler is so cute and the pig is sooo ugly.

McKay didn't want to touch any of the animals because he thought that was gross.  What he didn't mind was chasing the baby chickens around.

Flowers for the Fourth

So last time in flower center I got to make a vase arrangement for display (the bottom), and a Red, white and blue arrangement for a guy who buys flowers for his wife on a regular basis.  This was the first time someone ever came up to me and said "I want YOU to make it, and do whatever you want to it, just make it 4th of July-ish."  

I freaked out and got really nervous because I didn't want to screw it up... 

(It is hard to tell in this picture but there is some white mini aster in the wrap that puts more white into it.)  When I gave it to him he freaked and said it was the best thing he had ever seen.  It felt really good to have people to be happy about something you made.
