What we leave behind is one of the ways people remember us after we are gone. So what about the stuff on our computer? We forget about it for years but it's still there. So if you got on my computer and clicked on the folder "Jessica's stuff" this is a taste of what you would find.
This pretty much sums me up...
I had this picture of this lady because once in Rexburg the person who cut my hair gave me really short layers, and it looked just like her hair. I felt really trashy and 80's.
I still want this doormat...
McKay kept asking me why I wouldn't mind moving to Pocatello, so I found this picture to show him. Can you say dream house?!
please, never wear these.
Sometimes I feel like saying this to ppl.
In womb surgery to repair spina bifida. Very cool
In Rexburg I felt like this...
and a little like this....
but not anymore, for obvious reasons.
Cute norwegian elkhound. awww.
cute chicken coop... one day I will have chickens.
McKay and Ellie have bonding time watching Sesame Street songs together. She loves watching them. My favorite song that they did is with Wil i am, only thing is his face ruins the music video.
it's more like... "what I am is a stoned and what I am is a fried, and I'm never gonna quit, just keep gettin higher"
For real man, you couldn't just smile for the sake of the children?
jeez
Here are some other good songs.
This one's an oldie, but a goodie
i hope one of these get stuck in your head today. haha.
Holy cow that year flew by. Where did my fuzzy newborn go? Ellie's Birthday was on the 10th, Braiden and Sharon came down from PA, my family, and three friends and their kids. It was the funnest party I have ever thrown so I was pretty proud. I picked some recipes off of Pinterest for the food and it was yummy. Here are the links to the recipes below. The picture of the sandwiches was before they were cooked in the oven.
3. Strawberry Lemonade (freeze sliced strawberry topping in ice cube tray & add to lemonade)
My mom made the cake, it's yellow cake with Cool Whip+pineapple+vanilla pudding frosting. So.Good.
As an activity for the kids we blew bubbles, and punched balloons. Ethan and Marlo were the spirit of the party, they made the party awesome. They could be professional partygoers, just invite them and everyone will have fun.
Then it was time to eat the cake, which was...
...delicious!
now she wants more.
There was only one picture of me, and it happened to be of a diaper change. So glamourous, I know. I obviously don't have that many pictures of myself.
The party was fun, I'm glad I threw one. I'm sure Ellie's glad that she has some new books and toys to play with too. YAY! Thanks for making the day special.
2. Go to Alaska and see the Aurora borealis (some part of me needs to see this to belive it) (it just seems so amazing, comon, "collision of atoms in high atmostphere" really? just like that?) (and I want to see the rest of Alaska too)
3. Photojournalisticly document wildfire battles like this lady. badassmon!
4. Become an expert at Adobe Creative Suite and make cool designs
5. Go to Europe & visit everything cool, spend extra time in Greece (visit old family property)
7. Be fluent in another language (Greek, to help me on trip listed above)
8. Go to a volcano and poke fresh lava with a stick
9. Touch & swim with a dolphin
10. Be a good photographer (and ppl will want to hire me not the CSI kind tho)
11. Be an awesome mom (and regular person too)
12. Be unique
13. Be happy (and help others be happy)
Hawaii- warm and fun. I loved it
The Grand Canyon: also on my list but I have successfully been there. If I could describe it in one word it would be trippyfreakingamazingbeauteousfrigheninglyhowcanyounotbeliveinGodenormous.
I have a couple of matters to discuss. First off, I ordered one of these pretty Silhouette bags to replace my black, boring, ugly, everybody-has-one camera bag. I was really excited for it and once I had the box in my hands I tore through it, and "PHEWWW!!!! What's that SMELL?" The bag smells like they threw a dead fish in with the bag. So.Gross. It looks gorgeous, but smells like fish. That must be what I get for ordering stuff online, grrrrrrr. I am glad they are letting me return it. :( Maybe if it was real leather it would smell good. idk. bummer. :( I just want a cute camera bag. waaaaa.
Also, I also have had the chance to borrow my dad's lens. It's a Tamron 18-270 f3.5-5.5. I love the range this lens has, it's like three lens' at once. One day when I was shooting in the backyard it started making this whirring sound and I'm like "ok, what's happening?" Then I noticed that the auto focus stopped working. I sent it in to the manufacturer and it was still covered with the warranty (Tamron warranty's their lenses for 6yrs, that's pretty good).
Apparently the gears stripped. I don't know why and I don't know if this is a common occurrence but it happened nonetheless. I'm glad that they are fixing it :) really painless. Just thought I would share my experience.
Another thing on my goals list is to shoot more horizontal pictures. Why do I rely so much on vertical? Most people like to hang up horizontal pictures, watch wide screen movies (not vertical movies), look from side to side whist looking around, so why do I take so many dang vertical pictures? For some reason my subconscious thinks it's easier, so I have been trying to break that habit and see the world in a different format. It's hard. I found this article helpful to get it more into my brain.
I want to take a Nicole Class (I think) the Illustrator 101 class b/c pen tool, I hate you, and anchors&handles, I hate you, and uhhhh everything, I hate you! It costs like a hundred dollars and I'm not really sure it will be worth it. Has anyone taken one of these before? What was your experience? McKay tried to look up free videos for me because naturally he's trying to save some cash.here's what he came up with...
uhhh... I really don't know what to say. is this just as good as a Nicole class (just one is a thick Indian accent and the other one is a thick Utah accent?) Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
...
yay?
*facepalm*
Also, since we're on the issue of shopping and spending money let's talk about lenses too. I would really like a 24-70 2.8. And while we're at it a 14-24&70-200 (the holy trinity of lenses). Wouldn't it be coool? wanna buy it for me... haha lol, just dreaming.
Aaron took Ellie out sledding when we got some snow a week or so ago. Now we are having random 70 degree weather (very odd). I think Ellie liked sledding. She needs to learn better sledding posture, or maybe it's just her pretty girl swag showing through.
