Paper flowers-Late Mothers Day

These paper flowers are super fun to make and look pretty nice.  I made them for Mothers Day but never got around to taking a picture.  You can find the instructions here.
All you need is some coffee filters, floral tape, wire, and watercolor paints.

LOL

Whale watching

McKay's parents have been here in Boston with us for the past week and we went whale watching with them.  We saw five different humpback whales who were splashing their tails the whole time.  It was pretty cool but I got seasick (surprise surprise).  We drove out of the Boston Harbor for an hour and a half before we got to the whale zone.
I wonder what the whale pictures would have look like if I used my polarizer.  But I was so sick I didn't feel like getting very creative.

15 weeks

A train! A train! Could you, would you, on a train?
I have, I have on a train, on a bus, and on a plane.
On the stairs, and in the rain.
In a in a car, and in a tree.
It is so horrible, so horrible, you see.
I can do it here or there,
I have BARFED pretty much everywhere!

That's a pretty accurate representation of my life these past three months.  I have lost almost 10-15lbs and haven't gained much back.  It's the first time since high school since I have been in the 120's club. I'm excited that this sickness has subdued itself for the most part, but I still find myself heaving over the toilet after brushing my teeth and other random activities. So yeah you haven't seen my face in a while, I'm officially 15 weeks, and the baby is the size of an apple... but my visual aide is the biggest potato I had in my pantry (I have no apples.) I have been holding off from announcing this for so long because I had literally no idea how far along I was and I was waiting for an ultrasound picture.
I finally had my ultrasound three days ago but no picture... The nurse told me "your husband can't come in and we do not give any pictures" Rude! Luckily I sweet-talked her into letting McKay into the room and he got to see the little thing jump around like a crazy person.  Our due date: Feb 9th.  It looked like it was really hyper or throwing a tantrum, the way it kept arching its back and kicking its legs over and over. Very cool, but no picture for us.
So, not much of a belly really. Not really surprising anyway since I have been majorly sick.  All food sounds gross, except fruit, but that is getting better.  If you have any pregnant-lady recipe recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.  And you know those pregnant-lady classes?  Apparently I don't live in America anymore because they only offer them in SPANISH?! What the heck?
Also, when I was in Maryland I went to go get maternity shirts at Kohls with my mom and everyone shopping there was like 38-45yrs old.  Maybe I was just feeling self conscious, but I'm pretty sure they thought I was a pregnant teenager who was probably 14 or 15 years old.  Who ever says looking young is a blessing has got it all wrong.

That was probably information overload, but oh well.  That's all for now folks!

Top of the Hub

I have been looking forward to our five year anniversary for months.  Mainly because I have been planning on going to the  restaurant, The Top of the Hub.  This restaurant is on the 52nd floor the the Prudential Center (the tallest building in Boston) and has an unbelievable view.  We went there for the fixed price lunch, $22 dollars for a 3 course meal. Not a bad deal.
We had a table right next to the windows and it was fun to eat gourmet/rich-people food and stare out the window. See the bridge where we watched the 4th of July fireworks?
We could even see the Shrine (the one right above our house) from here too, but I don't think you can see it very well from this picture.
McKay's beet salad was really yummy and I ordered the soup du jour (equally yummy)
McKay got the pork loin, and I got the pasta. Both were very good, but I wish I would have gotten to try the scallops... I didn't because I hear shellfish is a "no-no" for people who are pregnant. Surprise! It is really going to be hard to start cooking for myself after this.
 Our dessert

After the restaurant we fell into food comas, and then went to go see The Help at the Boylston Movie Theater.  For Free. (thank you groupon!) I loved the book and I think they did a great job translating the book into a movie.  After I read the book I was dying to laugh with someone about the "Terrible Awful" but no one I know has read it.  Now I'm glad I can laugh about it with McKay now, and he even said it was "one of the best movies he has seen in a long time"
The only funny part that I can remember that wasn't put into the movie was the naked hobo who tried to attack Minny and Celia.  I don't want to see any nudity but it sure would have been funny watching the actress who played Celia beat some guy with a shovel until he's almost dead.
