Thanks to Stephanie for posting the tag!  I was supposed to go to my picture file, open the 4th folder, and pick the 4th picture and blog about it.  So here it is...

The Tetons!  This picture was taken when Mckay's parents took us on a day trip to Yellowstone and Jackson.  It is so beautiful out here.

Family Reunion.... well, sorta

My old roommate Heidi and her husband Devon came up from SL to spend the weekend and we had a family reunion.  Out of all of the roommates (Christy, me, Emily, Michelle, and Heidi) Heidi has been the only one of the roommates to move out of Rexburg. They are doing well and the announced that she is pregnant! Yay!

Also, Emily has an interior design boyfriend and we all got to meet him.  He is really cool and they are really cute together.

Sunday morning Heidi and Devon made brunch and we had blueberry waffles! Yum!

Roomates!

Now, we are all married (except Emily) and those of us who are married either have kids or are expecting (except me)

my HOTTIE husband...

i can't stop thinking about IDAHO!

 I am supposed to be writing a paper right now and I am having trouble because it is boring. Surprise surprise.  When I sit down to do it a million better things pop into my head and I find myself daydreaming a lot.

  So these are the things I have been thinking about 

(in no particular order)

1. Yesterday I almost ran over some college girl 

2.  Heather just moved into our apt complex

3.  Spud Harvest is over and back to Sugar High I go

4.  I need to get fingerprinted

5.  I give art lessons tomorrow

6.  I have lots of homework

7.  I love McKay

8.  I like to cook when I have time

9.  I think I failed my Civil War midterm

10. I like the song I'd Rather Be With You by Joshua Radin

11.  I love Idaho

Oh yes, I love Idaho. 

It is really a great place.

6.  WINCO!!  It is soooo cheap!

I got all of this nutmeg for $1 

(and no I wasn't making anything that required a 1/2 c. of nutmeg)

It is so cheap it's probably illegal!

5.  Potatoes!!!!

I never realized potatoes could get this big until I came out here.

They are cheaper out here too.

4. No traffic!

Many times we have been the only people on the highway.  AMAZING!

3.  We go to school here.

It's nice to get educated... sometimes haha

2. Gorgeous!

There are still many in Idaho that is still considered "Frontier" 

(no more than six people per square mile) 

1.  McKay's parents are close

They help us out a ton and we are glad we can go over there when ever we need to get out of Rexburg and get a breath of fresh air.

Volkswagens and other lovelies

I'm not going to lie, Rexburg winters scare me.  Negative thirty degree weather really takes its toll on cars.  Last winter the red car died and we have been using Braiden's black car.  The red car has been working off and on (but mostly off) and we finally took it to the shop. Hopefully it will as good as new when we get it back (I wish)

I hope it doesn't sound like I am complaining or anything because these cars are beasts, they have lasted through everything (is it that good ol' german engineering?), they are almost historical, and I am glad that we have them to get from point A to point B.  I am just a huge chicken when it comes to unreliability and negative temperatures.

Some girl in my Ed class was complaining about how her car is about to die because she is almost at 100,000 miles.  Give me a break!

Right now McKay's schedule and mine don't mesh well.  He is in class when I'm not and vice versa.  So, when I am doing my reading coach thing at Sugar High, McKay somehow has to get to work.  Most of the time he ends up walking.  For this reason I am glad that the city of Rexburg isn't very big, but in the winter that is going to be a problem.  It would be nice if the red car would rise from the dead and last all through winter.

On a lighter note, I found an amazing deal!

The oil painting classes bought new plastic taborets to replace the old oak ones.  So you know what happened to the old ones?  HAHA!  One word.... surplus!

So this morning McKay, Christy (old roommate,) Emily (another old roommate) and I rushed over to the sale (6:30) before everyone else and were first inline to get one of these bad boys.... 

There were twenty taborets and soon after we got ours there was a stampede of people rushing to get theirs.  One guy was trying to get as many as he could loaded on his truck.  The people who had to wait in line to go into the warehouse were getting angry.  I don't know what they came for but thats why you go early.

It was AMAZING!  New taborets cost around $300 but I got this one for $25!!! Yay! It is very good condition.  As you can see there is paint all over it but what do you think I am going to do when I use it?  Keep it clean? yeah right

Have you ever had to put your put your babies in a box and mail them 3000 miles away to be sold?

Other than that McKay and I are keeping on keeping on with school. We both have a full load.  Next month McKay will take the OAT... scary!

The methods class I am taking is really fun.  For that class I am currently working on a charcoal drawing.  For my next project I am going to do something ceramic-y so I think I am going to take a whack at recreating the St. Basil's Cathedral! Sounds like a fun idea eh? I guess we will see how it turns out... haha!
